pSaysay in the Intl Conference on World War II
TOGETHER with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the Holy Angel University (HAU), and the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, Project Saysay successfully carried its 6th Kuwentong Bayani Series at the Center for Kapampangan Studies' John A. Larkin Library in HAU, Angeles City on 17 August 2017. Project Saysay advocate Xiao Chua moderated the event.
Featured in this series of casual talk on heroism and issues in Philippine history were World War II heroes and veterans Pvt Marcelo Y Ocampo, Pvt Trinidad S Roque, and Sgt. Hermila G Ayson. Also in the casual talk were Ms. Des Benipayo, descendant of war martyr Jose Abad Santos, and documentary film director Bani Logroño.
Various student leaders graced the series.
This Kuwentong Bayani was part of the recently concluded International Conference on the 75th Anniversary of World War II in the Philippines in Angeles City. The first Kuwentong Bayani was held on 13 September 2014 in Malolos featuring Apolinario Mabini, while the four succeeding series were held on the Mondays of August 2015 at the GSIS Museo ng Sining in honor of Manuel Quezon.
