Bulacan Capitol partners with Project Saysay in a docufest

Project Saysay now joins the league of partners of the Bulacan Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) in spearheading the third SINEliksik Bulacan DocuFest.

The docufest has been running since 2017, featuring Bulacan local history and heritage. This year, the theme of the festival is about the heroes of the province, “Bayani ng Kanyang Panahon, Inspirasyon Natin Ngayon” (Hero of His Time, Our Inspiration Today).

Project Saysay Executive Director John Paul E. Abellera joins historian Dr. Lars Ubaldo of the De La Salle University-Manila and filmmaker Seymour Sanchez of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde as this year’s coaches and jurors.

Abellera is a heritage advocate on top of his profession in the film industry, being a Creative Manager of Star Cinema.

Prize for the Best Documentary Film is pegged at Php 100,000, and Php 30,000 each for the Best Research and Cinematography.

Winners for Best Screenplay and Special Jury Prize will receive Php 20,000 each, and P5,000 each for the Best Poster Design and Trailer. Consolation prizes of P10,000 will be given for each shortlisted entry and P5,000 for other entries not shortlisted.

All finalists will form part of the Bulacaniana Collection of the Bulacan Provincial Library, copies of which will be distributed to various Bulacan schools, libraries and offices in the province, along with Project Saysay prints.

PHACTO also partnered with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and National Commission for Culture and the Arts for this docufest.
