Knights of Rizal Raises Fund for Project Saysay

The Sucesos Chapter (Young Historians Chapter) of the Knights of Rizal launched its maiden publication Diskursong Rizal: Mga Lektura hinggil kay Rizal at sa Pagtuturo ng Kursong Rizal on 1 December 2017 at the Knights of Rizal International Headquarters on Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila. The event was graced by no other than former Chief Justice Renato Puno, who is currently the Grand Commander of the Knights of Rizal. The event coincided with the grand gathering of the knights of National Capital Region. Guest of Honor of the event was Ateneo de Manila University Chief Librarian Vernon Totanes, Ph.D. Edited by Secesos Chapter's founding members, Jonathan Balsamo, Xiao Chua, and Mark Boado, Diskursong Rizal is composed of ten articles by historians and educators: the late Gabriel F. Fabella ("Teaching Rizal in Schools"), Dr. Evelyn A. Songco of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) ("Transformative Learning Approach [TLA] in Teaching Rizal"), Dr. Augusto V. de Viana, also of UST, ("Fifty Years of the Rizal Law: What Have We Learned?"), Dr. Georges Fischer ("Rizal at ang Makabagong Pagkamakabansa," translated to Filipino by Dr. Zeus A. Salazar of the University of the Philippines Diliman), Atty. Pablo S. Trillana III, formerly of the National Historical Institute ("Rizal and Heroic Traditions: A Sense of National Destiny"), Jonathan Balsamo of the Philippine Historical Association ("Pagtuturo ng Kursong Rizal: Mga Karanasan at Kaisipan"), Mark Roy Boado of the Rizal Technological University ("Imparting Rizal as a Social Advocacy), Michael Charleston “Xiao” Chua of the De La Salle University ("Heroismo ni Rizal, Kabanyanihan ni Bonifacio"), Wensley Reyes of the Philippine Normal University ("Ang Aklat ng Kinabukasan: Ang Paaralan, Lipunan, at si Dr. Jose Rizal"), and Ian Christopher B. Alfonso of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines ("Sinlaki Lang ng Kokomban ang La Sol: Pagtunton kay Rizal Online").

Part of the proceeds of the book is devoted to Project Saysay. The launching copies of the book had been sold out on the same day of the launching. Sucesos Chapter is yet to announce when will it out the next edition. Here are the few pages of the book.
